The Chinese Institute of Design (CID) was found on February 18, 1995. Currently, there are 292 members. CID aims to promote academic activities across different design disciplines in Taiwan. To this end, it organizes an annual CID Design Research Conference, and publishes journals focusing on design research.
The Design Research Society is a multi-disciplinary learned society for the design research community worldwide. The DRS was founded in 1966 and facilitates an international design research network in around 40 countries.
Since its founding in 1954, the Japanese Society for the Science of Design (JSSD), a scholarly organization registered and approved by the Science Council of Japan, has been undertaking activities to achieve its goal of “contributing to the advancement of academic research in the field of design through the mutual cooperation of its members.”
Founded in 1978 and re-founded in 1994 KSDS aims to promote design science fields in Korean society by supporting theoretical study activities and practical research inquiries in general design fields. Additionally, to contribute overall design society by supporting information exchange program with members and international organizations.
